Provocation of Reality – 50th anniversary of the Oberhausen Manifesto
On 28 February 1962, 26 filmmakers signed the Oberhausen Manifesto in which they demanded a new start in German filmmaking. In the planned film series and DVD edition, works by these pioneering film artists will be shown and made available to the public once again.

New funding programme: International Museum Fellowship
Museums and public collections in Germany can now apply for funding. The fellowships allow foreign curators and young researchers to work at a German museum or collection for a period of 18 months.

Exhausted Heroes – Exhibition at the Hamburger Kunsthalle
Works by Ferdinand Hodler, Aleksandr Dejneka and Neo Rauch are presented together in one exhibition, enabling the viewer to compare the artists and their concepts of the “New Man”. Each artist represents one of three periods during which this utopian view appeared in art.
